Gaureeva ghee is prepared using the Bilona method, a traditional process of making ghee from curd. The curd is churned to separate butter, which is then heated to produce ghee.

Use it for tadka, on rotis, over dal-chawal and in sweets.

How Bilona ghee is made

The Bilona method is a traditional process of making ghee from curd rather than from cream.

  1. Step 1: Milk is set into curd

The milk is boiled, cooled and set into curd (dahi).

  2. Step 2: The curd is churned

The curd is churned with a wooden churner, the bilona, until butter (makkhan) separates from the buttermilk.

  3. Step 3: The butter is heated

The butter is heated until the water evaporates and clear ghee is left.

  4. Step 4: Strained and packed

The ghee is strained and filled into jars.
